one more word from brennan.

I finished The Ragamuffin Gospel on the way home from work yesterday, and it was honestly one of those books where I wanted to get my pencil out and underline every word -- especially on my second time reading it. Maybe because Brennan pulls from the gospel, and other theologians and saints, words that are just so abundantly full of the love of God. So I want to share with you a couple pieces that I did actually underline...I would share more, but then we'd be here all night.

"Daily we make choices that are either consistent with or contrary to our vision. A life of integrity is born of fidelity to the dream."

"'L'amour de Dieu est folie' -- The love of God is folly."

It's Wednesday, and this week has treated me well. I started it by celebrating Jakson's first birthday and will end it by spending a lot of time at work -- recruiting and admissions season is in full swing -- we've also got some special events going on this week. Tomorrow night we're showing Forever Strong as a benefit -- it's a rugby movie, so a coach from the Illinois Youth Rugby Association has been coming to P.E. this week to teach the kids how to play.

Friday I am going to experience a Chicago/Puerto Rican specialty -- the jibarito -- i've heard it described as similar to a burrito but wrapped in fried green plantains. yum!! So, in between Chicago Hope soccer and football games, some teachers and such are going to grab some jibaritos.

Tonight I am enjoying some time with the roommates -- and taking some time to dwell in the folly of the God that is love.

Lindsey, I loved this book as well. My copy is well marked up and it was one of those that I was disappointed when I finished because I wanted more! Kerri

I will definately have to get that book now! You're right, every day we are either moving closer or further away from our priorities~nothing is ever just static. Really makes you stop and think about each choice as you are doing it, right in the moment, cuz all those choices do add up to an overall trend or direction. Good thought! Thanks for sharing :)
