nieghborly love

so i'm sitting in christy's kitchen. she lives in my backyard. and her kitchen is so wonderfully bright and sunny. the perfect place for some blogging, um, i mean, job searching.

i noticed this hanging on her fridge:

Life is short. Hold hands not grudges. Max out your passport. Grow older without growing up. Do something that scares you. Get your hands dirty. Adopt an animal. Shave your head at least once. Make time for silly. Savor every sip. Walk, don't drive. Skip, don't walk. Do it for love, not profit. Be the first to apologize. Plant lots of trees. Learn to dance a jig. Listen first, talk second. Build communities, not empires. Thank a teacher. Stay awake for it.

i like it...i don't ever go to Caribou so I had no idea that this was their brand. but i liked it. and it's a good reminder as august is here and there is this sudden feeling of urgency to hold on to every last minute of summer. it's a good reminder to fight the urge to look back or ahead, and to simply enjoy the now.
