There are so many things I love about this beautiful season in the midwest. Chilly mornings (now too cold for me to bike to work), warm apple cider, pumpkin spice lattes from starbucks, pumpkin pie, apple picking, leaves changing color, the ability to straighten my hair and not have it be a frizzball the minute I step outside.
And then there is that pit in my stomach that I try not to let taint the beauty that is fall. This is the knowing feeling of what fall implicates: Colder weather, less sun, snow (eventually), a lo
ng winter, gray days. This pit in my stomach brings fear.
This fear is pretty fresh in my mind as last fall was particularly dismal. Due to certain circumstances, last fall is not a season I like to bring to mind.
But I know it does not have to be this way.
I read a book this summer (Come Back). There was a portion of the book where Mrs. Fontaine was brought to the attention that she consistently lived her life out of fear. This was followed by the realization that life's decisions and experiences stem from one of two things: Love or Fear.
This has stuck with me.
I do not want to dwell in fear. I want to relish in and act out of love.
Here is my love list lately:
