If anyone has been around me for an extensive period of time, you might notice I will sporadically sing a line to a song because that moment in time reminds me of a certain song a certain chorus a particular rhythm. Tonight as I sit in the living room with my favorites watching You've Got Mail (drooling over Meg's haircut and admiring her quaint little life in the city), I am reminded again the power of story, image, lyrics -- the power they have in the creation and restoration of life's experiences--- almost more powerful than experiencing life itself.
As I find myself, again, at a point in my life where my future is up in the air, do I have the choice to live a small life (but valuable) or a brave life? A life that will be formed by and reminded of a chapter of a book, a scene in a movie, a chorus of a song -- or a life that just maybe will be the subject of that scene in the movie or a line in the verse of the song.
Kathleen Kelly: I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void.
