ivy league

After driving all night, we pulled into a drive leading to a large stately building. two houses were set on each side. The porches were welcoming, the greenery overgrown, the trees were covered in pink and white spring flowers. This would be my first visit to the ivy leagues. Hillary, Brent and I were visiting Princeton Theological Seminary for the weekend for a little time with Katie Baker. I really had no frame of reference for what I was about to experience. What I do know now is that I had one of the most relaxing weekends spent among wonderful company, in the most quaint of towns I've ever been, with delicious food and glorious music.

One of the reasons we went to visit katie on this particular weekend was to see The Welcome Wagon in concert. They made for a wonderful evening in Miller Chapel with their friends (including Sufjan Stevens!!!). They are all amazing. I was blown away by Sarah Fullen's opening of Be Still My Soul. The upright bass, banjo, and piano were only among the long list of instruments used. My favorite may have been the bells that Monique strapped around her ankle and proceeded to play by stomping and clapping. Yes, this was one of the most interesting concerts I've been to...check out some concert photos.
